Lana kicking

We took this first video when she was just a little over one month old on Oct 9th.  We were watching Dancing With The Stars and Lana was kicking away.

In this second video she is 3 months old and working on some advanced moves now.

 We love watching that little girl kicking her legs.

Baby Lana arrives!

It's day 3 for Baby Lana. She seems aware of who she's with and alert of her surroundings, as she was on day 1 of her life. Or even before she was born, when she opened her eyes to her Dad's iPhone playing Bob Marley's "Get up stand up" during an ultrasound appointment. We are all pretty sure she was ready to meet everyone at least a few weeks before she did.

Alli was incredibly brave throughout her pregnancy and birth.  Looking at my texts, Umar said she was 5cm dilated at 12:47.  But it wasn't until around 6pm that Alli was allowed to push.  Umar and Sarah were identified as key players in the birthing process and the rest of us (Umnia, Shari, Randi and I) settled into the small waiting room.  Personally I was very happy about my waiting room accommodation, especially after walking by a closed door room, with a lady screaming.  A little scary.

At 7:05pm Sarah sent text saying "Saw baby's hair".  This was exciting news and put us all into a 3 point stance, ready to bolt through the birthing center doors to see the new little girl.  We even talked about how she will be born on 9-7 and might come out at 7:09.  We watched each minute go by.  However, after 15 minutes we relaxed a little, then by 8pm we were feeling like it might be hours still.  I was walking the little hallway there and decided to ask the nurse station if they had a preferred pizza delivery number I could call.  While I was looking through their menu book, I saw a orderly walk into Alli's room down the hall.  Before I could ask what was going on there, Randi and Shari came through the main doors saying "she's here!"

Born in Edina, MN on 9-7-12 at 8:17pm, Lana Iman Kelley-Khan weighed 7lbs, 15oz.  She came out with a full head of hair and beautiful!!!
